Very popular for several years, the minimalist wardrobe (or capsule wardrobe) is a great way to opt for ethical fashion. In addition to saving you time and money, a minimalist wardrobe is good for the planet!
What is a minimalist wardrobe?
The idea is really to have a wardrobe made up of very few pieces each season, but that each of them is of very good quality to keep them as long as possible. On the other hand, you have to be able to combine them, because let's be honest, we've all had a great printed top that we love, but that doesn't go with anything. Once finalized, your wardrobe should not contain more than thirty pieces. It must be entirely thought out as a whole and not piece by piece to be coherent.
Why opt for a minimalist wardrobe?
The main goal of a minimalist wardrobe is to consume less, but better. We can only advise you to choose your clothes carefully, because it will only be composed of pieces that you will wear. It's important to specify this, because I'm probably not the only one who has a closet full of different clothes, but always wears the same pieces.
How to create yours?
Keep only the essentials! Choose clothes that you like and that you wear regularly. The ideal is really to choose ethical clothes, which respect fair production methods (and if it's made in France, it's even better). We favor quality over quantity, preferably with natural materials such as cotton, wool, linen, and silk.
Here are our tips for optimizing your new wardrobe:

- Color choice: start with a basic color like black. Then, choose three neutral colors (grey, beige, white for example) and 2 bright colors.
- Prints and patterns: you can very well include some pieces of this style in your color palette to add a trendy touch to your looks. For example, you can accessorize your outfits with fancy organic cotton socks. However, be careful to choose only 2 to 3 maximum.
- Body type: you are about to create a sustainable wardrobe, so you might as well choose the clothes that will flatter you the most! If you don't know your body type, we invite you to consult our article on the subject.
- Stay true to your style: your minimalist wardrobe must truly represent your clothing style and personality, because you will wear all these clothes daily.
Now you're ready to start the big clear-out in your closets to make room for the essentials and embrace minimalism!
