A house made from recycled cardboard…

Share

Would you believe yourself to be among the three little pigs, after wood comes cardboard... and this cardboard looks strangely like straw bales. In fact, the first time I saw it, I thought it was straw, you just have to look (even though I wear glasses)!!!

A cardboard house, it must be admitted, is quite unusual. Let me explain: in the United States, students from Auburn University started with the problem that since our waste continues to increase, we might as well use recycled materials as a primary resource for construction. And the idea is good, especially when they choose to use waxed corrugated cardboard (a difficult substance to recycle).

Moreover, and this is a significant argument, this house is low-energy... and here all the characteristics of an ecological house are represented: materials, low energy consumption, and design... and the icing on the cake, this modest dwelling is for students!

One question, however, bothers me, because I know cardboard well, how does the house handle humidity? If there's a cardboard expert out there...
