It's been a few months since Cathy and I decided to redesign the site. But making a V2 is no small feat; it's not something you just decide to do one day when you wake up.
The site now represents a large part of our revenue, and a redesign seemed important, even essential, but the fear of the unknown is still great.
The old site worked (was working) quite well. But there were things that made me want to shoot myself because you just couldn't understand why they were there. Why? Because initially, we didn't get very good support. Not by choice. Just because we knew nothing about online stores. THE WEB. We only had a showcase site.
Anyway, we made a "calibrated" organic site. Green, blue. Matching our logo. Nature.
Good or bad idea, I don't really know. We were targeting a niche, and we didn't want to stray too far from it.
Today, we're completely moving away from that, already with the style of our products, which has completely evolved in 11 years, but especially with the site redesign. A gamble. A risk.
I admit I feel like I did the first time my dad took the training wheels off my bike. I feel like it's going to work, but I'm afraid of falling. I tell myself that if I fall, I could get really hurt. But hey, that's life too, falling and getting back up.
Anyway, we'll see. Stay tuned.
