What to do with unsold items?

This is a question you ask yourself when you have a brand. And what do we do with unsold items?

We could launch products only by pre-order (we tested this with menstrual panties). This way, no stock. But this works for launching a brand, not for a brand that has existed since 2004.

What if we gave them a second life?

The idea of giving them a second life came very quickly. Many people are getting into zero waste, we can give new life to a camisole by transforming it into a towel. Yes, good idea. Except that. And it's really a huge problem for us, we give the products away, but nobody wants to pay for shipping. I don't know if you reuse the product, resell it, pay for shipping, it's just FAIR. But no. Still too naive.

When we wanted to donate to an association, we were told "oh, but you don't have all the sizes". One evening, coming home, I told myself "I'm going to put everything in the collection bin, it'll be quick". So I approached the said bin and saw a name: CHRYSALIDE. A quick internet search showed it's a reuse center based in Saint-Etienne. I contacted them, they agreed, and they came to pick up our products.

Relief, our unsold items are going to have a second life. They will be sold, donated, upcycled, recycled. When you're a textile brand, whatever it is, at some point the question arises: "what do we do with this size that we no longer sell?"

Now we're thinking about going further with recycling your old underwear. Can we give them a second life? If they're not too damaged, can they be donated to an association? Can the fabric be recycled? Being in a CSR approach is not simple, especially when you're not doing it because it's fashionable.
