When a footballer buys an eco-friendly house

Yes, in the same sentence there is indeed "footballer" and "eco-house" and it's not a mistake... I myself was initially surprised because generally these people are not environmentalists at heart, you just have to look at their cars... but that's not the point of the debate...

So, it's about an English footballer playing for Manchester United (Cantona's former club...) named Gary Neville (nothing to do with Harry Potter) who plans, if approved by his local council, to build a flower-shaped house almost entirely buried in Lancashire.

This magnificent residence will only cost 9.1 Million Euros (a trifle for a football player) but will be green in terms of energy: solar panels, a wind turbine, and a geothermal heat pump. The commitment goes further because in addition to being self-sufficient thanks to the energy produced by his wind turbine, Gary Neville wants to feed his surplus energy into the national grid...

The thing is, this house is 745 m² (personally, I can't imagine it) and will be carbon neutral... but wouldn't such a large house for 2 or 5 people contradict the principles of ecology?
