I'm really behind, I should have posted this a week ago... but unfortunately I didn't have the time or the inclination. Because yes, to maintain a blog, you need to want to, and to be honest, this December, I just didn't feel like it anymore.
So, Séverine and I went to Pau to participate in our last show of the year.
Let me just say it right away, it's super far, but wow, it's so beautiful. I've been lucky enough to travel quite a lot in my life, but to be honest, I had never been to the South West. And honestly, it's really beautiful, seeing the Pyrenees when you drive to Pau, it's magnificent. It makes you want to go skiing.
As usual, trade show means prospecting, so we went to see a shop in Coarraze (Babybouille). It's between Lourdes and Pau, first the extraordinary road with a view once again of the sunny Pyrenees, and then the amazing shop. Thanks to Delphine for her warm welcome.
Then we were able to visit Pau, a small detail about me is that I love discovering new things, that was the case in Brussels and it was the case in Pau. Which means I'm a tourist who goes straight to the tourist office.
So Pau for those who have forgotten their history lessons is the birthplace of Henri IV. Who is Henri IV (if you know, don't read what follows)?? So, a quick history lesson: he was the King of Navarre and King of France. He was married to Queen Margot (remember the movie with Adjani). He also signed the Edict of Nantes (a peace treaty authorizing the practice of Protestantism in addition to Catholicism) and he was assassinated by François Ravaillac. I kept it short, I know!
So all that to say that in Pau there is Henri IV's castle, and that his castle is really beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately for Séverine, Lili (FanFan didn't make the trip) and me, the castle is closed at lunchtime, so we couldn't visit it... but hey, we still had a great time!!
Where will we visit next time??
