As you know, since the creation of our menstrual underwear, we have been donating €1 from each sale to the EndoMind association, which supports research into endometriosis. This still little-known disease remains misunderstood by many people. Yet, it is a daily battle for some women. At Peau-Ethique, we are committed to being involved in this fight and helping to make a difference. That's why this year, we decided to take another step towards research by participating in the Endorun race organized by the association.
What exactly is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a gynecological disease that affects approximately one in ten women of childbearing age. This disease is characterized by an abnormal presence of uterine tissue (or endometrial tissue), the endometrium, outside the uterus. This tissue then follows the rhythm of our hormones, as if it were inside the uterus. The problem is that during menstruation, it cannot be expelled through the vagina. It will then develop around and inside the organs. This can cause very severe pain (especially during menstruation) and/or infertility. In addition, several other symptoms may appear in affected women, such as chronic fatigue or digestive disorders.

How does Endorun participate in the fight against endometriosis?
Endorun is a race in support of the fight against endometriosis that mobilizes tens of thousands of people every year. This year, like the last, Endomind organized the event in a 100% remote format due to the health situation. It will take place from November 6 to 21, 2021, throughout France. The principle is simple: everyone will be free to choose the location and time of their departure by connecting to the dedicated platform. It will be possible to run alone or accompanied. Like us, you can even mobilize your company and participate in the challenges that will be offered during this period.
This race represents a real challenge for Endomind, mirroring the fight against this disease. It is both a personal challenge for those affected and a real opportunity to take concrete action to get involved in this fight. As a partner of the race, all members of the Peau-Ethique team are committed to this event.
In 2020, €42,000 was raised thanks to Endorun. These funds have significantly advanced research by creating the Endometriosis Research Foundation. This is the only organization in France exclusively dedicated to fundraising for endometriosis research. The goal is to better understand and combat the disease.
For our part, we have already donated €500 to Endomind since the creation of our menstrual underwear. An amount that may seem small compared to other companies, but one we are very proud of for a small structure like ours.
