Lyon, Natural Capital: I was there!

Share

And yes, because for once a sustainable event took place somewhere other than Paris, I was able to see with my own eyes the immense garden that Bellecour Square hosted.

All ages mingled, no need to be eco-friendly or not, everyone just felt really good. You just didn't feel like you were in a city (like the heart of France's second-largest city, no less).

A local producers' market, explanations galore about many species dotted the path... I just loved it.

The question I asked myself was what would become of these 3700 plots (yes, 3700, can you imagine the tranquility in the city)? In fact, as with the first edition, they will either be replanted or redistributed to community gardens, public institutions, or parks in Lyon.

The Dammarie-les-Lys gardens, which provided most of the species, arrived by boat, so the carbon footprint is really good!

Enough talking, time for photos!
