I'm continuing Peau-Ethique's entrepreneurship articles, not for CEO branding, but to tell you a bit about the brand's behind-the-scenes. I'll try to keep up with this exercise at least once a month. Now that I know you read the articles, it motivates me to write more personal ones.
Still no multi-million euro fundraising for Peau-Ethique, even though we get the impression that to succeed as entrepreneurs, we have to go through this step. In reality, entrepreneurship is a true ordeal.
Disclaimer: this is not an article to complain; it's a genuine feeling.
Obviously, since Peau-Ethique was created, we've been driven by a real project: to offer accessible organic lingerie for the whole family. But is that enough today?

Entrepreneurship is difficult, and so is trying to change mindsets.
We ask ourselves many questions: are we wrong not to open our capital? Shouldn't we take out a loan to develop further? But here's my main problem. Selling a product that we know comes from a polluting industry. Entering a capitalist approach by pushing for purchases. Mind you, we're not working for glory; glory doesn't pay our rent. And truly, the more we progress, the more these questions plague me.
Breaking the myth of the rich boss
Let's be clear with you, we're not rich, we never have been, and above all, we never did this to become rich. By choosing to be a VSE (very small enterprise), we also choose autonomy. Even if we wouldn't mind a few thousand euros to further develop our products. But more development means more production, and therefore more waste. Because let's not lie, the recycling industry is almost non-existent in France. I read that for Zara, unsold items represented 10%. I wondered about us, and I believe that since 2004, we have only donated about a hundred pieces (not bad for a company that has existed since 2004). Which is not much in the fashion world. The question arises of producing on demand. This would mean no more unsold items. But wouldn't that create a greater demand? (I might open this question more in an article)
