Silk lace necklace …

I don't know what's gotten into me lately, but I feel like talking about jewelry! A career change on the horizon (Sophie, if you're listening!), no, just that things are moving in ethical jewelry! And that's great because, frankly, it wasn't very appealing before!

A new discovery, and not a small one: the silk lace necklaces from Karawan. Basically, Karawan specializes in Aleppo soap (but we'll talk about that again soon). New this year, they've launched magnificent necklaces delicately crafted with a needle.

So this range is sweetly named Oya and is handmade by women in Anatolia (in Turkey). The primary goal of these jewels is to preserve ancestral know-how, and here at Peau-Ethique, these are values we share and apply (partnership in Peru) we love it... In fact, these laces are originally scarf ornaments... fortunately for us, Christine managed to adapt them to Western fashion, and I must say the result is quite successful...

Oya necklaces have a real ethical foundation; they are the result of the meeting between Christine and Hanifa. But who are they, you ask? Very simple: one is the creator of Karawan, the other wants to transmit her artisanal heritage... the result is a family story, a mother working with her 3 daughters (hey, a mother working with her daughter also reminds me of something). So for now, it's a tiny workshop, but I'm sure that in this village, other women share this know-how and will soon be able to join this beautiful adventure!

For now, this collection includes 4 ranges, at affordable prices (starting from €36). But it's just the beginning :), I'm sure you'll find shoes that fit a necklace that suits you. As usual, I've listed my favorites... but know that Oya jewelry is a big favorite of Peau-Ethique, and when we love something, we say it!
