All women can attest to it, we've all experienced that moment when we hear the soft crackle of our tights unraveling as we try to put them on. That, of course, was before we switched to our super-resistant organic cotton and recycled polyamide tights. Since then, I must admit I no longer have this problem. However, it's true that I would have liked to know some tips for giving a second life to my ripped tights before throwing dozens of them in the trash. Today, we're sharing 5 upcycling tips to help you avoid contributing to the massive pollution caused by this product.

A zero-waste bag for your soap ends
I think we all have those little bits of soap ends lying around that we don't know what to do with. With this tip, no more waste! Simply cut off the foot of your tights to form the bag. Add the small pieces of soap you have on hand, then tie it all up and voilà! You can use it directly like a whole bar of soap because the very thin fabric of the tights allows liquid to pass through quickly.
A natural deodorizer
Following the same principle as the previous tip, cut your tights in the same way. Instead of placing soap ends inside, slip in some baking soda with a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Close your sachets then place them in the areas you wish to deodorize, for example, inside your shoes!
A bag for your groceries
If you're also committed to an eco-friendly approach, you know it's important to stop buying disposable shopping bags sold in supermarkets. With a pair of used tights, you can create a reusable and completely eco-friendly one. Simply cut the legs of your tights at the crotch. Turn them inside out, then close the two leg holes with a simple seam. This will form the bottom of your bag. Turn it right side out again so the seam is inside the bag. Use the hem at the top of the tights (at the waist) to thread a ribbon that will close the bag. And there you have it! You can use this bag to replace the disposable bags in the fruit and vegetable aisles, for example.
A hair tie
Undoubtedly the simplest tip to make and already known by many of you! All you have to do is cut a strip about 4 cm wide from one of the legs of the tights. In addition to being super eco-friendly, this hair tie won't damage your hair because it has no metal clasp!
And you, what are your tips for giving your tights a second life?
