It's summer, so I'm continuing my momentum with festivals and events not to be missed... and "Yess" is the topic of the day!
An event that will take place in Grenoble on September 11 and 12, 2010, and since Grenoble is a city I'm particularly fond of (I did my marketing master's degree there, so I have a lot of memories! the good old days, student life!) I had to talk about it!
What is the theme of Yess? The daily solidarity practices of associations, cooperatives, and mutual societies in the Grenoble area! It revolves around 8 daily themes: solidarity market, solidarity education, what to work for, daily services, catering, culture, housing and living environment... you're bound to find your focus!
An event that highlights all the positive economy of the region with lots of fun and enjoyable highlights such as a giant aperitif for the region's AMAPs (Associations for the Maintenance of Peasant Agriculture), fun workshops like "DIY with the Passion du Bois", a stand where you can calculate your ecological footprint, the "v'île aux enfants" (children's island)...
Personally, my favorite is the upcycling and clothing and furniture customization workshop to rediscover the joys of vintage...!
And even on Saturday evening there's a free concert! The band Zebda (Mouss and Hakim) do you remember them?? Motivés, Bella Ciao but also Bottes de banlieue or On est venu... that era seems so long ago! And as for them, "If there's one message to remember, it's that humanity has no nationality. That brotherhood has no papers. That languages and cultures are not private preserves." (isn't that beautiful?)
Plus it's happening at Parc Mistral, for those who don't know it, it's a large park in the heart of Grenoble, ideal for joggers! (and even better for sunbathing for the lazier ones!)
You might say that September 11th and 12th are far away! But that's precisely why you have time to plan a nice weekend in Grenoble; while you're there, you can visit the Bastide or go to the city center where there are many organic restaurants! And if you have time, you can stop by a small all-organic children's store that sells our Peau-Ethique products: Mon Petit Öko!
