A chalk outline of a body on the asphalt is something you see in crime scenes, but when trees disappear, there's nothing. The original idea comes from "Chalk Outline Tree," a group from Belo Horizonte, a city in southern Brazil that is fed up with seeing the city's trees cut down for urban development.
One man started it all; he was tired of seeing the trees in his city decimated, so he decided with his partner to draw a "dead" tree where a tree used to be. It's quite a morbid idea, but it gets the city's residents thinking.
After fighting urban deforestation, something that is never talked about, the city hall decided to replant 300 saplings. The question is whether they will grow to maturity or if the city hall will decide to cut them down again at some point?
