When "eco" rhymes with "stars," you get a CHIC eco-friendly attitude…

Share

The green wave hasn’t escaped the stars! More and more of them are adopting an eco-friendly attitude, but always CHIC, of course! They drive hybrid cars, they build huge eco-friendly homes with the latest solar panel kits and the newest environmentally friendly materials (even if recent studies suggest these famous panels aren’t so eco-friendly!), they support humanitarian projects (top of mind for celebrities involved in humanitarian causes? Angelina Jolie?), others become vegetarian… But let’s not forget the much less “green” but so much more “Glam” side for stars, like private jet travel, ads promoting high-powered cars… So yes, they make us dream, but with little sparks that aren’t always very green!!

To illustrate my point and avoid greenwashing, I’ve prepared a little cocktail of our favorite stars who have opted for the eco-attitude, to be completed…

Alright, I’ll kick things off with George Clooney, who was the first star to buy an all-electric sports car. His niche for protecting the environment is sporty but eco-friendly driving! We're naturally charmed by a very charming, committed, eco-friendly man… what else? Unfortunately, no longer single! Unfortunately, he praises the merits of coffee makers that are not at all very eco-friendly!!! Do we forgive him??

Let’s move on to Leonardo DiCaprio, a very committed personality who has strong convictions and wants to share them!! He directed "The 11th Hour," a film in the same vein as Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," to raise awareness about environmental issues!! I can't review it for you as I haven't seen it, but I welcome your comments if you have!

Not to be outdone, famous women are also getting involved… Julia Roberts, an actress as authentic on screen as she is off. She’s a fan of organic products, especially for her children, lives in a 100% eco-friendly house, and is involved in promoting “Earth Biofuels,” a company that produces non-polluting fuels…

Our 2008 darling, Marion Cotillard, who also uses her fame for a good cause by supporting Greenpeace, not bad at all!

And among the stars who have embraced ethical fashion, we find Stella McCartney, concerned about the future of the planet, for which she committed by launching her own brand of organic cosmetics and lingerie… Bono, too, got involved with his brand Edun…

So, it’s great that stars are giving us a green show!!!

But, let me reassure you right away, you don't need to be famous to be committed,

it's all our little everyday actions that help protect the planet...

What else…?
