Putting on your pajamas isn't enough to be eco-friendly all night long! The first step to becoming eco-friendly even in the arms of Morpheus is to choose your bedding carefully. There are many natural and eco-responsible bedding options on the market that will allow you to enjoy pleasant nights of sleep. You can turn to brands such as Le Matelas Vert or Ma Literie naturelle. But why choose this type of bedding, you might ask?

Choosing natural bedding
The first reason is to preserve your health. It's no secret now that most synthetic mattresses are designed with petroleum derivatives to give them antibacterial, anti-dust mite, and anti-stain properties. Many chemicals are added, making them dangerous for our health. Knowing that our skin is exposed to these products every night (or almost), it is important not to take the choice of your bedding lightly. In contrast, natural and eco-responsible bedding undergoes no chemical treatments. They are generally composed of organic fibers of animal or plant origin such as coconut fiber, wool, organic cotton, or linen.
The second reason, which may seem obvious, is to preserve our environment. It's important to know that the organic fibers that make up natural bedding are harvested responsibly, without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. As a result, they are made from recyclable, renewable, and biodegradable raw materials.
Zero-waste maintenance
Once the bedding is chosen, you need to think about its maintenance! You know us by now; we're going to focus on natural and zero-waste methods. For the mattress, even if it's not something we wash very regularly, it's still important to maintain it well to keep it as long as possible. For every problem, we've found a natural solution for you!
- To disinfect your mattress, use baking soda and sprinkle it on top. Let it sit for about an hour until absorbed. Then, all you have to do is brush and vacuum up the residue!
- The previous trick works just as well if you want to remove a stain. Simply add a little water to the baking soda to form a paste. If you don't have any on hand, soda crystals work just as well. Mix one and a half glasses of crystals in 50cl of hot water. Put on gloves and use a brush, then scrub. Rinse with hot water, then let the mattress air dry.
- To naturally purify your mattress, nothing beats white vinegar. Simply mix one glass of white vinegar with three glasses of hot water, then scrub your mattress with a brush. Rinse, then let it air dry.
Wearing organic pajamas

Eco-friendly nights don't just stop at choosing and maintaining your bedding. It's also important, to follow this logic, to choose good organic cotton pajamas. Again, choosing organic cotton sleepwear will allow you to preserve your health by avoiding endocrine disruptors, but also to be part of a totally eco-responsible approach.
We don't plan to start selling bedding at the moment, but if there's one thing we do well, it's organic cotton pajamas, especially the women's organic cotton nightdress. To care for your organic cotton sleepwear, machine wash it at 40° then let it air dry. To go all the way with your eco-friendly approach, you can also make your own homemade laundry detergent. It will wash your organic pajamas as well as your bedding. Simply mix hot water with a few Marseille soap flakes and a few tablespoons of baking soda. Let it sit, then add cold water to get the right consistency, and voilà!
