So yes, why are French people not interested in ecology? Or not anymore? Or almost not at all?
I've read several articles on this subject online and even watched interviews with politicians, and they all say the same thing: "LACK OF INTEREST". At the same time, I want to tell you that ecology isn't exactly inspiring.
Let's be honest, who seriously talks about nuclear power? Who makes you want to learn about it? To understand why we really should stop it but won't. NO ONE.
Who also talks to you about shale gas? Apart from Maud de Fontenoy. No, I'm kidding, it's okay, sorry, just a joke.
No, seriously, we tell ourselves that these aren't important subjects, but we'll still buy organic food because it's trendy and makes us look cool...
Wait, maybe we could also start a gluten-free diet, right? Because it makes you lose weight. That makes me laugh so much.
Anyway, French people are losing interest in the core issues of ecology. I'm not even talking about organic cotton because, believe me, that's been forgotten.
Is it not glamorous? Does ecology not inspire dreams? It's true, talking about global warming isn't ultra-glamorous. Palm oil and deforestation aren't either. But at the same time, we live in this world. (Do you see my moralizing tone coming?) No, in fact, it's a real question: how can you buy organic food but have almost no ecological awareness? I'm genuinely wondering. 9 out of 10 people consume organic products, but a quarter of French people don't feel concerned by ecology. So, I admit, I don't understand.
