Breast cancer, as you understand, we don't like it here (well, we don't like any cancers, really). I think working in lingerie, seeing a lot, too many, breasts made me realize that breast cancer is a very real presence in our society.
And I have to tell you, it freaks me out a bit. Plus, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac (yes, a little, not too much, but still). And I also think that being surrounded by women who have been sick makes you think, "Yes, I could too..."
Well, I practice self-palpation quite regularly, even if each time the gynecologist tells me there's nothing. You never know.
Anyway, one evening, I noticed a small lump (yes, sometimes touching your breasts isn't the best idea). Do you show it to someone? Yeah, maybe, but no... So, what does every girl under 30 do? She shows it to her mother first!! And then she tells me, "Yes, go see the doctor." So, first mammogram. First anxiety of my life. Only for it to end with, "Yes, your mammary gland goes higher..." SO GLAMOROUS, THANK YOU...
Anyway, all that to say that in the shower, I still continue to self-palpate my breasts (yes, because honestly, husband/partner/girlfriend, they're useless!!!).
Short video explaining how to properly perform a self-examination (however, I strongly advise the girl in the video to change her bra brand because hers is really leaving marks... Peau-Ethique, girl)
Otherwise, there's a controversy, good or bad, that we see everywhere, saying that mammography IS BAD... Personally, I don't really know what to think about it, I mean, you have to see, maybe not excessively, but some women don't do self-palpation or anything, and mammography is the only way for them to detect that they have cancer.
(However, girls, synthetic is REALLY BAD, opt for cotton bras!!!)
