You see, I'm a complete bag addict. Yes, for some it's shoes, but for me it's bags. My latest purchase was a leather bag, vegetable-tanned from Ekyog nonetheless. The problem is, it's too small. And I usually carry my whole life in my bag.
So, I'm looking for a new bag. I've had organic cotton bags, but they were probably too thin and ripped very quickly, which was a disappointment.
And then I saw bags made from recycled tarpaulins. Yes, it's strange, advertising tarpaulins transformed into bags. Now that's real recycling! Indeed, what to do with these tarpaulins that have already been used for advertising? Burn them? The idea is good: transform them into everyday objects. Because yes, ladies, let's not lie, we all need a bag!
My heart fell for a brand from the Rhône-Alpes region (yes, I admit it's a bit chauvinistic, but oh well!!) Reversible.
The brand manufactures in the region, so kudos for Made In France, and it also has an ethical approach. Yes, you know I always like that extra aspect. It collaborates in its different stages (collection, washing, cutting) with a CAT (Work Aid Center) and also works with a reintegration center.
So in addition to being recycled, these bags are made in an ethical way!
So yes, it's a style, and it's certainly not a branded black leather bag. But differentiating yourself from time to time is good. And besides, do I need to specify that each bag is a unique piece? You're sure to be the only one to own this bag, and I really like that idea!
I find this idea of recycling tarpaulins really very good; it's true that we can't do that with organic lingerie :) (at the same time, I might be launching a concept!). Otherwise, Reversible also makes bags from recycled vinyl and used polyester mesh.
The prices for the bags I chose are between €47 and €80.
The little extra is that you can also recycle your bag. Indeed, once worn, damaged, or used, you can send it back to the brand, which will recycle it. Isn't that a beautiful cycle!
