I have a lot of questions about my hair. But it's a pain. I want my hair to be beautiful, silky, soft, and smell good, but at the same time, I don't want to use a lot of products with questionable ingredients to achieve that result.
More and more people are talking about "No Poo." Well. I'm not ready for it. I already have trouble with dry shampoos, so that's a pretty big limitation. I should wash with conditioner (which is organic and surfactant-free), but I can't manage that either.
The trend is toward a sebum cure. 21 days to 4 weeks without washing your hair or getting it wet. Just brushing it. Once or twice a day. I'm not ready for that at all either. When I go 3 days without washing my hair, I feel like it's so greasy you could fry an egg on it. So imagine 3 weeks without washing it, I don't think I could do it. Psychologically, I'm not ready yet. Yet everything you read about it is quite positive. Hair grows faster. Fewer split ends. And especially, no more greasy roots. Because that's my problem. And I don't know how to fix it. Plus, I work, I see people, I can't imagine not washing my hair. And imagine if my hair smells. Maybe I'm fantasizing.
I did a clay/jojoba oil mask, and no matter how much I rinsed, my hair was still sticky. So I had to rewash my hair the next day. G.R.E.A.T for the sebum cure, I'm far from it :(
So, you might say to use organic shampoos, which I do, but after 3-4 weeks of use, my hair gets greasy again (roots). I really don't know what to do.
We try to be as clean as possible, and the results are not convincing. So we (I) don't go back to natural, and then my hair is almost dazzling. I don't understand.
If you have any advice or a real hair routine that is simple and, most importantly, effective, I'm all ears, because as you've understood, I'm not ready for the sebum cure yet.
I've already used henna and was very happy with it until today I have white hair, so that's useless now because having orange roots is not ideal.
On the other hand, I heard that some people even do the sebum cure on their face, so no washing their face, or moisturizing it? But only if you don't have wrinkles, I guess? And not if you live in a city either, because of pollution. And also if you don't wear makeup, right?
