When you buy
organic underwear, you know you're paying the right price. But what exactly is the right price? After breaking down the cost of our
organic cotton menstrual briefs, we're doing the same for our
women's tights!
Discover organic cotton tights!
Manufacturing and raw materials
By choosing European manufacturing, we knew that the final cost of the product would be higher than our previous tights made in Turkey. Our goal is truly to know how our tights are made. Our workshop is located in Northern Italy. In fact, our
organic cotton tights are made 590 km from us! In terms of carbon footprint, that's not bad!
Choosing organic and recycled raw materials comes at a significant cost. With inflation, the price of raw materials has at least tripled. This explains the higher cost. Recycled polyamide is also a fiber that costs more than normal polyamide.
As you can see, the largest part of the price is the material and manufacturing; we could sell polyamide tights like everyone else for 5/6 Euros.
Logistics & storage
This year, we had our packaging made in France. A small business in
Saint-Chamond was in charge of making our label. We wanted to make the product as local as possible.
Logistics also include transport from Italy to France and the delivery costs of your product.
And the margin in all this?
For tights that we sell for €21, less than half comes back to us. And the difference with big brands and fast fashion is evident here. While some brands have margins of x6 or x8, our margins are shrinking like a deflating balloon.
You should know that normally we should have a communication budget, an acquisition budget, etc. But where to put that budget? Simply by increasing our margins. The larger our margins, the more we can advertise. The more we get known, the more customers we have.
